Settings
Settings contains your backup, workout data and app preferences.
Google Drive backups
No GymNotes account is required. You can optionally connect Google Drive to keep backups in a private GymNotes area that other apps and normal Drive files cannot access.
From Settings, you can:
- Connect or reconnect Google Drive.
- Keep between 1 and 10 backups.
- Create a Google Drive backup manually.
- Enable automatic backups after workout changes.
Google periodically expires access. If a backup needs permission again, GymNotes displays a reconnect notice.
See Backups & recovery for setup, automatic backup, retention, restore and troubleshooting instructions.
Your workout data
You can create or restore a downloaded backup file, restore a Google Drive backup, or download all workout logs as a CSV spreadsheet. Keeping an occasional downloaded backup gives you a separate copy that does not depend on Google Drive access.
Preferences
You can:
- Choose from multiple themes: Light and Dark (GymNotes Classic), True Dark, Paper, Midnight or Forest.
- Set the default timer length.
- Show floating arrow buttons for moving between days.
- Add a shortcut that saves a set and moves to the next one.
- Show how many workouts you have completed since your last backup.
Troubleshooting
If something is not working, try a full app reboot first. Settings also lets you search for missing workouts or reset all local data.
Resetting local data cannot be undone. Create a downloaded or Google Drive backup first if you want to keep your workouts.
App information
At the bottom of Settings, you can open the changelog, documentation, privacy policy, terms of service and information about GymNotes.
